Numerous detections and reduction pipeline

Thursday 25 August 2016

The FRIPON network has detected many fireballs this month more than ten some night in August 2016. Our estimate to get 1000 orbits per year will surely be exceeded as the network is not yet complete. More importantly, the complex data reduction pipeline is now in place (event detection, astrometrical calibration, measurement of the fireball and finally computing the orbit and the strewn field). It remains to integrate radio observations, as they are now saved along with detections.
Example of detection by 8 cameras in the east of France with the map of France showing stations that detected the fireball (green circle), other stations were covered by an anticyclonic fog.
